Janet Sullivan, Chief Medical Officer. Janet Sullivan, MD, joined Hudson Health Plan as Chief Medical Officer in 1997. Dr Sullivan has led the development of Hudson Health Plan’s “supporting excellence” programs to promote quality clinical care for enrollees, including pay-for-performance programs to better align physician reimbursement with quality of care objectives.  She has been an active participant in local, regional and national work to develop, standardize and implement clinical performance measures.

From 2003-2007 Dr. Sullivan served on Board of Directors of the National Quality Forum. She currently serves on the Measure Development, Methodology, and Oversight Advisory Committee of the American Medical Association Physician Consortium for Performance Improvement; on the Child Health Measurement Advisory Panel of the National Committee for Quality Assurance; the Performance & Metrics Workgroup for NTOCC (National Transitions of Care Coalition); and the Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement Task Force for the American Academy of Dermatology.  She was a founding member of both the New York Diabetes Coalition and the New York Quality Alliance and continues to be an active participant with those collaborations and with the Taconic Health Information Network Community.  She was appointed a Fellow of the New York Academy of Medicine in 2006.

Dr. Sullivan received her bachelor’s degree from Antioch College and her medical degree, cum laude, from the Ohio State University College of Medicine. She received two years of training in the combined Internal Medicine/Pediatrics Residency affiliated with Michigan State University in Lansing, Michigan, and then completed a residency in Dermatology at University Hospitals of Cleveland.  She Board-certified in Dermatology and, prior to coming to Hudson Health Plan, served as a staff dermatologist for Kaiser Permanente in Cleveland, Ohio. She continues to participate in clinical practice, seeing dermatology patients at the Open Door Family Medical Center in Ossining, New York.
