"Tiempo" host Joe Torres recently sat down with Mark Santiago, Sr. VP for Marketing and Communications, Hudson Health Plan, Kinda Serafi of Children's Defense Fund - New York, and David Sandman, Senior Vice President of the NYS Health Foundation to discuss what everyone should know about finding affordable health care for children during these tough economic times.
The show also spotlighted www.EnrollNY.org, a new web site developed by the Hudson Center for Health Equity & Quality (Hcheq) to expand access to free and low cost health insurance in New York State. Currently, the website allows people living in any of the five boroughs of New York City, and in Westchester, Rockland, Orange, Sullivan, Ulster and Dutchess counties, to learn about the public health insurance programs offered by New York State. The website makes it possible to determine one's eligibility for public health insurance in New York State, and allows users to fill out a pre-application process which can then be transmitted to an enrollment office for processing.
