IT’S A WRAP! HUDSON HEALTH PLAN’S COMMUNITY OUTREACH VEHICLES SPORT A NEW LOOK
COVs, mobile offices on wheels, make it easier for people to sign up for New York State-subsidized health insurance
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
June 14, 2010
(Tarrytown, NY)…GHudson Health Plan’s fleet of four Community Outreach Vehicles (COVs) are sporting an eye-catching new wrap, proclaiming the important message—“Your Health Matters”—as they travel around the lower Hudson Valley, signing people up for free or low-cost New York State-subsidized health insurance.
“Our COV fleet has been on the road for four years now, and these mobile offices have proved to be invaluable in our community outreach,” says Mark Santiago, Senior Vice President of Marketing and Communications at Hudson Health Plan. “We’re out in the community every day, talking to people in the neighborhoods where they live and work, helping them determine if they, or their families, qualify for state-subsidized health insurance. These COVs provide a quiet, comfortable place where people can speak privately about their need to access health care.”
The COVs visit busy sites where people routinely go, such as shopping plazas, community centers, health fairs, and other places with heavy foot traffic. The brightly colored graphics on the exterior, and an inviting setup inside, always attract a crowd, wherever these 35-foot-long vehicles are parked.
Inside the COVs, visitors are amazed to see a full office suite, including a comfortable waiting room and two roomy office cubicles. The COV has Internet access, so Hudson Health Plan marketing representatives can submit applications in real-time and avoid application delays. An on-board DVD player can keep the kids occupied while mom and dad consult with a representative, and a sound system can broadcast music at street festivals and other events. Certain health services, such as blood pressure screening, can be performed on board as well.
