For the Eighth Year in a Row, Hudson Gets Highest Scores
in Consumer Satisfaction As Well

(Tarrytown, NY)…Hudson Health Plan has emerged as the leader of all Medicaid Managed Care plans in the region in the new 2010 Consumer Guide to Medicaid Managed Care in the Hudson Valley (PDF), just released by the New York State Department of Health. Hudson received the highest overall rating, outperforming by a wide margin the two second-place performers. Hudson also racked up its eighth year of receiving the highest score in overall consumer satisfaction.

The Department of Health publishes an annual Consumer Guide to Medicaid Managed Care in the Hudson Valley to help consumers differentiate among the various Medicaid health plans that serve the region. Ratings are based on certain quality of care measures and a patient satisfaction survey.

“While New York State stipulates what services Medicaid Managed Care plans cover, every plan has a choice in how it delivers that care,” explains Georganne Chapin, President & CEO of Hudson, a community-based not-for-profit organization. “We choose to develop integrated care models that benefit both our members and our providers because we address the gaps in care that undermine the delivery of quality health care today.”
